How often do you get to sleep on a gorgeous beach, mere yards from the pacific ocean?
Pendleton, with Catalina, is one of two signature and special events that can only be experienced with the Pacific Explorers. The pristine Del Mar beach on the south end of Camp Pendleton is reserved for special use by Marine families. Through our extensive partnership with the Marines, we have been granted access for two weekends per year, once in Fall for the Guides and once in Spring for the Princesses.
This two-night campout includes activities like sandcastle building, beach soccer games, and fun on the beach and in the ocean. We are grateful to interact with the Marines who help build an amazing obstacle course and often roll out some equipment and vehicles to check out. Dad and child will camp out in their tents and be lulled to sleep by the breaking of the waves. This weekend includes the Guides Initiation Ceremony (Fall) and the Princess Graduation Ceremony (Spring).
Cost: included in annual fleet dues.
Each year the Pacific Explorers collect and donate to the “Semper Fi & America’s Fund”, which helps those who have been wounded or injured protecting our country. Throughout the years, the Pacific Explorers have donated just over $1,000,000.00 to “The Fund”. At this event we hear from members of “The Fund” and how our donations have positively affected their lives and the loves of many others.
